Appen, a global leader in providing high-quality training data for machine learning and artificial intelligence, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales and Marketing HRBP to join our team based in Toronto/ Ontario, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational HR partnership to the Sales and Marketing functions. You will collaborate closely with sales and marketing leaders, managers, and employees to drive employee engagement, develop talent, and align HR programs with business objectives. This is a key position that will contribute to Appen's success by supporting the growth and development of our sales and marketing teams.

HR Business Partnering:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to sales and marketing leaders and managers, providing guidance on HR topics, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and career development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand HR needs, challenges, and opportunities within the sales and marketing functions and develop strategies to address them effectively.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on employee development, performance improvement, and career planning.

Talent Acquisition and Retention:

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies for sales and marketing positions, ensuring a diverse and high-quality candidate pool.
  • Participate in the interview process, assessing candidates' skills, experience, cultural fit, and potential for success in the organization.
  • Support onboarding activities for new sales and marketing hires, ensuring a smooth transition and positive experience.

Employee Engagement and Development:

  • Design and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention within the sales and marketing functions.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing leaders to identify training and development needs and create programs that promote employee growth, skill enhancement, and career progression.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide guidance to managers on performance management, including goal setting, performance feedback, and recognition.

HR Program Implementation

  • Support the implementation of HR programs and initiatives such as performance management, talent review, compensation planning, and succession planning within the sales and marketing functions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies, providing guidance to managers and employees as needed.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Utilize HR data and analytics to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement within the sales and marketing functions.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards on HR metrics, such as headcount, turnover, employee engagement, and performance, to inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of HRBP or HR generalist experience, with a focus on supporting sales and marketing functions.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the sales and marketing industry, including familiarity with sales processes, marketing strategies, and emerging trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable working with HR data and generating insights for informed decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
